Scam Alert: Phony area codes, restricted vitamins

Judi Gatson

This is an article post about a scam alert for phony area codes and restricted vitamins. If you receive a phone number with the area code 809 and you don’t know who it is, it is most likely a scam. The area code 809 is for the Dominican Republic and are usually pay-per-call service related.

An email is circulating that claims the use and availability of vitamins is restricted which has caused the prices to increase greatly. This is a scam because legislation was introduced in 2003 to Congress about the regulation of dietary supplements. However, it was not passed nor was it even voted on.
